Three Key Activities For Child Development

Children are sociable, curious and unique. Consequently, each child learns at their own pace. The fact that a 3 year old child learn colours or shapes, and another child takes more time to learn to cut does not mean that one who has learned the colour is more intelligent than the other.

Here are three important activities that help the child develop cognitive, language, interpersonal and motor skills to assist them as they grow. By following these simple activities you can help your child grow and prosper.

Inventing stories

It is a game that is very easy to do and every child likes to do. These begin with a story, and it depends on the subject in the day, and continues through the children. They must summarize the story already begun and continue to take turns, adding characters or events. In this way the child learns to develop his cognitive level because they must remember the events planned in history, and learn to develop their inter-personal level because of the socialized situation with their peers.

Cutting Designs

It is a very good activity that does not require much effort to achieve. The child can choose the design he wants to cut. Be sure to watch the child because he uses scissors (pointed round). This activity will help the child develop their motor skills and hand-eye coordination. You can use pre-designed books with diagrams and varying designs as they will be able to use their manual coordination by cutting and drawing around the edges while paying attention to stay as close to the outline. Praise them for each attempt and encourage them by showing how to do finer cuts.

Animated Singing

This is an activity most beloved children. You achieve success through the verbal and nonverbal communication between the teacher or parent and child. Through this activity, children develop their linguistic level because they must sing and pronounce correctly the song, and their cognitive level because they must remember the song and body animation while singing it again and finally, they will develop their interpersonal skills because they child is acting friendly and happily sharing the activity with their immediate peers.

It is our responsibility to assist, support, understand and teach the child to discover and motivate their individual curiosity, because they will learn new activities and new challenges that will help them as they grow as a person, to feel loved by others and be part of his new company, his family, his friends and teachers. Most of all have fun!
